Undergraduate Scholarship Program for the students of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) in Top Pakistani universities/institutions

Applications from Gilgit Baltistan students for undergraduate studies (4 or 5 year BS programs) at HEC recognised public universities or institutes are being accepted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Applying to all subjects of study under the Undergraduate Scholarship Program for Students of Gilgit Baltistan in Top Pakistani Universities/Institution (Batch-IV), this scholarship is for the academic year 2024–25.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have a domicile or local certificate of Gilgit Baltistan.
  • They should have finished their equivalent qualification, or their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC).
  • Students already receiving another scholarship are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • The maximum age for scholarship is 22 years by the application deadline.
  • Candidates must meet both HEC and university admission requirements for BS programs.

Scholarship Coverage:

  • Tuition fees, hostel fees, and other expenses up to Rs. 240,000 per year.
  • Book & travel allowances of Rs. 30,000 per year.
  • A monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000.

Important Notes:

  • Candidates will be selected based on their Aptitude Test scores, conducted by the ETC (Education Testing Council), HEC, along with their academic records.
  • To qualify for the scholarship, candidates need at least 50% on the test. The result will be valid for 1 year.
  • Students already enrolled in a BS program at public universities or institutions (for up to 1 academic year) before advertisement can also apply.
  • Scholarships are provided based on merit, without discrimination based on gender, caste, race, or religion.
  • Applications are accepted from any public sector university or institution in Pakistan.
  • HEC owns the right to cancel or delay the scholarship application process without prior warning.

How to Apply:

  • Applications should be submitted online through the HEC portal.
  • Only complete applications will be approved, so make sure to click “Submit” button once finished.
  • Keep your application ID and payment receipt for future reference.
  • A non-refundable fee of Rs. 500 must be paid online to Habib Bank Limited (HBL). The bank details is in the advertisement.
  • A scanned copy of the fee challan must be sent with the application form.

Deadline: September 30, 2024
