Peshawar University Teachers’ Group Might Skip Classes Because They Haven’t Been Paid
An official from the teachers’ group at Peshawar University said to a news channel that some workers haven’t received their salaries for a few months. He mentioned that even though they were worried, the teachers didn’t join the protest to make sure students wouldn’t face any trouble.
But now, they can’t ignore the big problems anymore and feel they have to do something. They said it’s because of the old boss, Dr. Muhammad Idrees, that the university is having money problems like never before in its long history.
PUTA asked for their salaries to be paid in the next day and said they’d sit outside the Governor’s House if they don’t get what they want.
Public universities in the province have been struggling with money problems for a while now.
