After many students failed the class nine exams, the Lahore Board got thousands of online requests from students asking for their exams to be checked again.
Reports say that 150,000 students failed the class nine exams under the Lahore Board. The History of Pakistan exam had the most failures, with only 12.5 percent of students passing.
The pass rate for Islamic History was 45 percent. General Math had a 58 percent pass rate, and General Science had 60 percent. In Chemistry, 62 percent of students passed, and 63 percent passed in Mathematics.
In Civics, 66 percent of students passed, and 69 percent passed Physics. Students can apply for rechecking until August 24. The fee is now Rs. 1400, which needs to be paid at the bank, and the application should be uploaded online. The Lahore Board will send an SMS to inform students about the rechecking process.
Yesterday, the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced the Class 9 exam results. This year, 287,000 students took the exams.
Zahid Mian, the Lahore Board’s Controller of Examinations, said that over 127,000 students passed the exams, while 159,000 students failed, showing that it was a difficult year for many.
