The people in charge of medical and dental colleges in Pakistan were told not to ask students to pay next year’s fees yet.
On Thursday, the PM&DC said that students should pay their tuition fee for the next year only after they pass their professional exam and move to the next year.
The council said no student should be made to pay the fee before they move to the next year, only after their results are out. Colleges can give a bill for the next year’s fee before the professional exam’s result, but students don’t have to pay until they’re promoted.
But they were told not to add extra fees if students pay late or do anything that stops a student from taking their professional exam.
Also, medical and dental colleges can let students pay fees every month if the colleges begin classes for the next year before the exam results are out. This way of paying can carry on until the results are announced, said the PM&DC.
If any college asks for money against these rules, students can tell the PM&DC. Colleges were told they’d get in trouble as per the PM&DC Act, 2022, if they don’t follow these rules.
